The Latest from Along the River...Today's News!

More than 25 people attended the Fifth Annual Rogue River Clean-up!
Making it the most successful clean-up to date!
Volunteers of all ages came out to help clean-up the Rogue River on Saturday, May 30th, 2009! We cleaned up over three miles of the Rogue, removing everything from building supplies to clothes to pop cans and fishing line!
Some volunteers headed north toward the Rockford Dam while others worked south along the river toward Jericho Ave. In total over 25 people attended the clean-up! Thanks so much to all the wonderful people that came out and spent their the time to help clean-up the Rogue! Many people told me that they where having a great time and that they want to help out again next year! Great weather and a comfortable temperature made it a truly enjoyable day!
I hope to see you again next year!
I would also like to thank our great sponsors that provided everything that we needed!
D&W Food Center of Rockford provided doughnuts, bottled water and soda and trash bags!
B.C. Pizza of Belmont provided pizza for volunteers after the clean-up!
Rics Food Center provided bottled water for volunteers!
AAA Canoe Rental provided the use of a canoe to transport trash downriver to a drop-off point!
The West Michigan White Caps provided the tickets for the drawing after the clean-up!
Thanks to the City of Rockford for removing the trash we collect!

About The Rogue River Project
The Rogue River Project was established by myself in May of 2005 with one simple mission: to clean up the Rogue River and restore it's natural beauty. As an avid angler on the river I became very concerned with the heath of the river and decided to take action! Since then more than 100 volunteers have joined me in various clean up projects, from cleaning up the grounds around the Rockford Dam to the annual 3+ mile river clean up! This year I hope you too will join me...you can make a big difference in our community! I cannot thank everyone that has helped out over the years enough for their help and ongoing support, without them the Rogue River Project would not be possible!
