Five
Years of Progress!
More than 25 people attended the Fifth Annual Rogue River Clean-up!
Making it the most successful clean-up to date!
Volunteers of all ages came out to help clean-up the Rogue River on Saturday, May 30th, 2009! We cleaned up over three miles of the Rogue, removing everything from building supplies to clothes to pop cans and fishing line!
Some volunteers headed north toward the Rockford Dam while others worked south along the river toward Jericho Ave. In total over 25 people attended the clean-up! Thanks so much to all the wonderful people that came out and spent their the time to help clean-up the Rogue! Many people told me that they where having a great time and that they want to help out again next year! Great weather and a comfortable
temperature
made it a truly enjoyable day!
I hope to see you again next year!
I would also like to thank our great sponsors that provided everything that we needed!
D&W Food Center of Rockford provided doughnuts, bottled water, soda and trash bags!
B.C. Pizza of Belmont provided pizza for volunteers after the clean-up!
Rics Food Center provided bottled water for volunteers!
AAA Canoe Rental provided the use of a canoe to transport trash downriver to a drop-off point!
The West Michigan White Caps provided the tickets for the drawing after the clean-up!
Thanks to the City of Rockford for removing the trash we collect!
Thank you to FOX 17, WZZM 13 and the Rockford Squire for helping spread the word!
